Extravagant Ritz

(*WGC) He's Puttin on the Ritz - Cash Talks, by Coin's Hard Cash

Extravagant Ritz is a classy chestnut mare with everything one wants to breed for. Her conformation is awesome; she is smoothly put together, with a strong, short back, well sloped shoulder, and long, correct legs. Her neck is long and elegant and her face is refined and pretty - a "Ritz" trademark. To complete her striking appearance is a rich, dark chestnut coat, another trademark passed down from her sire.

Extravagant Ritz's pedigree is also picture perfect. Sired by 1996 TWHBEA WGC He's Puttin on the Ritz, she is out of a direct daughter of 1987 WGC Coin's Hard Cash, with her second dam by the 1979 WGC Threats Supreme, and her third dam by 1974 WGC Another Masterpiece. In all, you can count 7 different World Grand Champions on Extravagant Ritz's pedigree, with 8 total appearances of WGCs since Midnight Sun appears twice. The great Pride of Midnight appears 4 times on her papers, and the legendary names of Prides Generator and Prides Gold Coin can also be found. It is indeed a difficult task to find a horse with such an illustrious background of so many champions.

Not only is her ancestry the finest, Extravagant Ritz has close family ties with some great producers in our breed. Her dam, Cash Talks, is also the dam of show horses Simply Exclusive and We're Talking Dollars. Simply Exclusive is the dam of the outstanding show horse, 2009 RWC Cash Lotto, as well as Simply Busted. Extravagant Ritz's full sister, Puttin' on the Cash, is the dam of Premium Tap, a name everyone who frequents horse shows or reads the Walking Horse Report has heard. Premium Tap is a top contender wherever he shows, and was shown by Suzanne Moore, who also rides WGC Zulu and RWGC On the Line, before being sold in 2010 to campaign in the 11 & Under division where he has proven to continue his winning ways. Another full sister, Paid Cash at the Ritz, is the dam of top Plantation Pleasure Lite Shod show horse, also a 2009 Reserve WC, Aspen for Cash.

Extravagant Ritz is well on her way to following in her mother's and sisters' footsteps. Her 2008 offspring, a gorgeous black Jose' Jose' stud colt named Jose's Dr. Pepper, sold at the 2009 Sand Creek Yearling Festival in the #7 slot for the top 10 sellers. Out of 375 horses sold, all with top notch bloodlines, that's pretty impressive! Jose's Dr. Pepper is now owned by Don and Lucky Collins and this year was the Amateur 3 Year Old Stallions Reserve Champion at the Trainers' Show! It was a big class full of top horses; we can't wait to see what else this colt is capable of.

Aside from her conformation, production record and stellar pedigree, Extravagant Ritz happens to be one of those mares who is sweet, affectionate, and easy to get along with. She will stand tied and allow her feet to be handled, and is able to be clipped on the legs, face, and even ears. She loads and trailers perfectly. We have not ridden her, but she would be the type of horse that is incredibly easy to start under saddle - she has a very willing attitude. She is also an easy breeder and wonderful mother.
